Downloads and Links

The downloads are some various information that took me far too many years to find, and I think they will be helpful for any neophyte devotee. I will also provide links to various other ISKCON sites. If you want your site listed, just contact me and I will gladly add it.

When I first got into Krishna Consciousness there was no interwebs. I kept asking for training in etiquette, prayers etc. The only answer I ever got was ‘just chant hare krsna, no advancement is ever lost’. While true – this was wholly unhelpful.

Finally, after far too many years, I was able to find so much online. Most of what is posted here I believe is from defunct websites. If any of these downloads belong to your site, please let me know and I will either remove them, or give your site credit (up to you).

This is a link to founderacharya.com. The GBC wrote a book explaining Srila Prabhupada’s position as the eminent siksa guru if ISKCON. The book is available for download on their site. They ask that all ISKCON sites link to it. Mine is not an official ISKCON site, but it still seems like a good idea.

This is a 16 page book from 1966, printed by the ISKCON Press in Boston, before the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust was founded. A wonderful read, and a blast from the past.

This is a very nice bhakta handbook. I wish I had this in my early days. It looks and feels like a Windows ‘help’ file, but has so much great information. The site I got it from seems to be gone. I do not know if they moved to another site, or are just gone. It is a small zip file containing one chm file.

This is a scan of an old 1970 handbook. It is a 45 Mb download, and a 116 page pdf. It has some great pictures of Srila Prabhupada teaching how to apply tilak, some interesting photos of the ISKCON press in Boston, a really fun read. And most of the information is just as applicable today as when it was written.

A very well prepared 93 page pdf from ISKCON Chowpatty. A very nice primer on devotee behavior, cleanliness, and a good list of prayers.

A GBC booklet from 1984. It does mention “accompanying curriculum”, which I have never found. Still, it has a lot of good information.
